I am awaiting my Malvern Automatic. Those that do not like the Butterfly closure, you can go to a watch site and purchase a conventional buckle and spring pin for this strap. I put butterfly clasps on watches that come with buckles. Most higher end watches use a deployant clasp such as this because it is easier to use, and makes the strap itself last longer, as there is no bending of the end to get it around the wrist and fastened. Just received my delivery and have to say that on first impression I am very pleased with purchase. Watch arrived in excellent packaging and looking at the presentation box you thought already quality. The watch itself is excellently designed, very elegant ,stylish and has a high quality feeling to it. Just be aware that it is slightly "thicker" than the usual watch you might wear under your shirt sleeve. To me there is only one downfall, a previous review already mentioned, and that is the strap with the butterfly clasp. I appreciate designer's creativity but that's all to say about it an I can tell already from wearing the watch for an hour that I will most probably part from the strap. To me it feels uncomfortable, too much hazzle to put on and hopefully one day CW will listen and replace the clasp with a stylish but conventional one. Overall I am very pleased though, being very sceptical to buy such high value items online without seeing the real thing and I would highly recommend a purchase from CW.

This is the second CW watch I own, my first one being the Ascari. This is a tremendously elegant watch. Understated, yet brilliantly sophisticated. While the Ascari was my initial must-have, I find myself now wearing the Malvern most of the time (such as today on my day off).

I'm not a big fan of CW watch straps, so ended up replacing the butterfly clasp strap wih a black lizard strap from Hirsh. Now I can easily admire the back of this watch too. The result is that this watch is breathtaking!

I highly recommend this watch if you are into a classy look and for instance wear dress shirts to work. (Posted on 10/29/10)
